General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Information Technology Governance Manager to join our IT team. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies are functioning both at a high level of efficiency and compliance. This Governance Manager position is primarily focused on risk, compliance and the value of IT to the business. These are enabled by strategic alignment of IT with the business, and the availability of adequate resources. This is accomplished by leading the definition, formulation, and dissemination of policy, procedure, development and support processes to the Information Technology team as we work to build our common process set across the IT organization. Also, providing leadership to the IT Risk Management activity and the resource, financial and demand management processes. This role will provide the leadership to drive the continued consolidation of IT processes, the refinement of those processes into a synergistic framework that optimizes the delivery of IT solutions while minimizing non-value added activities.
Lead the overall IT governance process
Provide management to a small group of people
Facilitate coordination between the multiple functions and stakeholders within the organization for strategy development, program review/control governance, planning/scheduling, and quality assurance to enhance organizational performance.
Manage IT SOX program
Drive process definition and measurement tasks to completion
Utilize strong communication skills – verbal & written in working with peers and presentations to management
Utilize influence skills in working with IT teams to refine their processes and support them to improved performance
Design and develop process documentation for software development lifecycle
Support the operations team on the development of work instructions
Capture / document the governance framework; evaluate completeness and recommend adjustments
Manage IT patching activities
Oversee the maintenance of IT policies and procedures
Coordinate the implementation of compliance policies of all Cloud related activities
Manage the development of IT metrics
Oversee the compliance of mergers and acquisitions
Manage all IT Governance related Audits
Assure all of IT maintains compliance consistent with appropriate policies
Candidates must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the IT Governance function, ITIL and software development processes. ITIL foundation certification, intimate knowledge of software development lifecycles (waterfall and agile) are desired, Cobit certification is a plus. Candidates must be able to discuss the interrelationships of IT processes as they work in concert to support IT operations. Additionally, qualified candidates will be able to discuss their familiarity with IT policies and processes that support the governance process.
