    High School Diploma or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.




    This position requires an active Secret clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. 



    Responsibilities for this Position


    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Facilities Support Associate.  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



    • Assists with maintaining daily operations of the physical facility
    • Supports facilities staff with project work by performing work site inspections, issuing of burn permits, verification of contractor equipment licenses, answering contractor’s general questions about site procedures and processes. 
    • Works with outside contractors on coordination of building and equipment repairs
    • May perform other activities such as escorting contractors, performing GDMS and NIROP building assessments, equipment inventory documentation paper recycling/disposal per Government security standards
    • Manage and maintain documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram, space usage, etc. and also assist with maintaining infrastructure related documents (drawing inventory, one-line diagrams
    • Regularly manages/maintains invoices, PO’s, credit card statements. manage cable and internet service and assists with issuing of work orders
    • Assess and Troubleshoot fire protection system, initiate appropriate corrective actions.
    • Manages material logistics associated with project and maintenance related items
    • Responsible for providing data and/or inputs to computer database for monthly activity reports, metrics and goals
    • Able to complete and prepare basic CMMS reports
    • Responsibilities may include climbing ladders, lifting, bending, and/or stooping
    • Handles unexpected demands and adapts to new situations
    • Resolves and responds to office and facility-related issues and emergencies during and after hours
    • Capable of identifying repairs needed to the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC


    • Completes tasks in resourceful and effective manner
    • Ability to work on assignments requiring judgment and initiative
    • Strong understanding of the implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions
    • May require decision-making but with limited financial implications to the company
    • Focus is on completing tasks or activities supporting implementation of procedures
    • Strong knowledge of general contractor trade materials such as dry wall, paint, tools, etc.
    • Strong knowledge of general building systems
    • Ability to identify and eliminate root causes of problems
    • Written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to make presentations on team goals, metrics, etc.
    • Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures
    • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments
    • Ability to give direction to contractors to perform general repair/maintenance tasks
    • Performs well in a team environment and on an individual level with completing tasks


    • Prior construction/contractor hands-on experience and safety experience
    • Fire protection system knowledge or similar certification
    • Experience with GOCO facilities process and procedures
    • Knowledge of GOCO security process and procedures
