    Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.


    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager for the Cyber Systems Mutli-Level Security (MLS) Business. The position provides an opportunity to lead the execution and enhance the performance, profitability and growth of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

    Cyber Systems, a Line of Business within GDMS, is seeking an accomplished, driven candidate to lead our Multi-Level Security products portfolio. The Senior Manager drives value into the product portfolio to achieve financial objectives as determined by the Platform Security Products (PSP) strategic plan, oversees the strategic alignment and roadmap of MLS products within the PSP portfolio, and the development of MLS products through design, execution and deployment.

    This position is located in San Antonio, TX. Travel to GDMS locations (e.g. Scottsdale, AZ and Fairfax, VA), as well as to customer locations, is required.

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Responsible (working with the product manager) to ensure company investment in product sustainment and product development is tied to business objectives, and achieves expected technical outcomes within authorized budget and schedule
    • Collaborate with MLS programs operations staff and customers to ensure viability of the MLS Product suite in a changing security and acquisition environment
    • Develop strategic plan for MLS Product portfolio by identifying MLS Product market opportunities, market gaps for product enhancement or new products, associated strategic investment, and internal and external issues that impact growth and profitability
    • Outreach to existing and potential new customers to provide the MLS Product vision and associated roadmap, and use that outreach to inform the product roadmap
    • Evaluate and prosecute new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, and/or alliances
    • Develop and maintain a MLS Products portfolio orders forecast to achieve the long range sales plan
    • Achieve MLS Products portfolio annual financial objectives (Orders, Sales, Earnings)

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Experience in defining and executing successful strategies to grow business
    • Experience in successfully meeting business financial and strategic objectives, especially as it pertains to product development
    • Knowledge of the MLS market, customers and/or technologies
    • Knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices
    • Familiarity and knowledge of federal contractor cost accounting
    • Ability to thrive in a highly interactive team environment
    • Extensive interpersonal, communication, collaboration and leadership skills
    • Ability to build relationships with senior level customers and internal counterparts
    • Work well under pressure with the ability to simultaneously deliver on multiple tasks and/or priorities
    • Participates in company development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people
    • Directs the activities of a functional area or project for a business area or line of business
    • Conduct business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives
    • Negotiate with customers, partners or management
    • Attempt to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
    • Exert influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization
    • Performance metrics visible at the GDMS, business or functional level
    • Control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods
    • Responsible for managing people, including performance evaluations and pay increase recommendations
