    Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology.  Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.  


    Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Intern (Paid) to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ location. This is a great opportunity to use and grow your understanding of software engineering concepts and the software development process.


    Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. You will be working on a collaborative software engineering team in the development of satellite ground systems, command and control, simulation/stimulation environments as well as research and development efforts. Your daily activities could involve you in requirements analysis, assisting design activities, coding and/or unit testing. In short, you will be exposed to the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). See how a talented software team operates and more importantly, become a valued contributor to that team.


    • Knowledge of at least one of the following languages: C++, C#, Java is required
    • Have a basic understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
    • Have a basic understanding of the software development process
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Have good written and verbal communications skills
