    Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

     

    Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required.

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. 

     

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Test team(s). The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and produce products that support General Dynamics Mission Systems and our clients.     The Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) is a three year rotational program comprised of six, 6 month rotations. MLP members will work in all facets of manufacturing as well as have the unique opportunity to explore potential assignments in engineering, quality, supply chain and business development. Program members will pursue a company-paid Master's degree as well as GDMS internal Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification – both of which are requirements for graduation from the program.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    In this role, you will build experience in:

    • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining automated test equipment for a variety of products. These efforts apply to test hardware, test software, and test systems
    • Actively participating in a manufacturing engineering team for existing crypto and communications products
    • Updating design documentation
    • Maintaining test plans and procedures
    • Testing and troubleshooting production hardware

    Skills you will have include

    • Experience with software programming languages such as C++, Python, Visual Basic or National Instruments LabView
    • Knowledge / experience with PC operations and Windows OS

    Strong interpersonal communications and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a small team environment

    • Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
    • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work
    • May provide work direction to other employees
    • Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theories
