  • Basic Qualifications

    Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology.  Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.  

     

    Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

     

    Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required.

     

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Test Engineering Intern (Paid).  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    In this role, you will gain valuable experience by:

    • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining automated test equipment for a variety of products.
    • Actively participating in a manufacturing engineering team for existing crypto and communications products
    • Updating design documentation
    • Maintaining test plans and procedures
    • Testing and troubleshooting production hardware

    Ideal Test Engineering Interns will have:

    • Completed 2nd year Electronics Circuits classes
    • Experience with software programming languages such as C++, Java, Visual Basic, or LabView
    • Knowledge / experience with PC operations and Windows OS
    • Strong interpersonal communications and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a small team environment
