    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc. (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Advanced Proposal Specialist (Proposal Coordinator) to work in our Capture and Proposal Leadership (CPL) organization. This position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. In this role, you will work collaboratively across the organization to prepare, refine, and submit compliant and compelling proposals for GDMS opportunities.

    The primary responsibility for this role includes coordination of proposal development activities on large and/or strategically important proposals in collaboration with the Proposal Manager, such as:

    • Analyzing RFPs to determine compliant response structure
    • Facilitating proposal team communications and providing an interface between proposal authors and graphics, editors, vendors, etc.
    • Desktop publishing all proposal volumes (consistent format and font), maintaining configuration control of all proposal materials, and creating actual volumes in electronic and paper form
    • Coordinating with Security and IT organizations to maintain control of author access to folders and facilities
    • Coordinating review activities with the Review Team Lead, preparing all proposal materials for reviews, and participating in fact-finding meetings
    • Reviewing proposal responses to validate accuracy, ensure adherence to company policy, satisfaction of customer specifications, and quality of material sent to customers
    • Preparing detailed delivery plans and checklists and coordinating final printing, electronic copy, assembly, and shipping
    • Briefing company management on proposals and proposal status
    • Representing the organization as a prime contact on proposals and interacting with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters that require coordination between organizations

    GDMS develops mission critical Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions across the land, sea, air, space and cyber domains, but that doesn’t tell our whole story.     What you bring to our team:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
    • Fully proficient knowledge of proposal development and management
    • Fully proficient knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft product suite, especially in Word and Excel, Adobe Professional, and SharePoint
    • Ability to thrive in an interactive team environment that collaborates with different elements of the business organization
    • Ability to self-manage own activities to accomplish objectives
    • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills

    What else you should know:

    • Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) Top Secret/SCI clearance is desired. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
    • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
