  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Agile Coach in the Systems Engineering organization.  We are looking for a passionate Agile leader to advise in agile adoption, methods and practices. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.




    • Works across the entire organization, and up and down the hierarchy, to network and advocate for agile values, principles and best practices
    • Agile coaching, process mentor and facilitator for various teams as needed
    • Set a standard for excellent facilitation of agile events (planning meetings, backlog refinement meetings, retrospectives, iteration demos, etc.)
    • Advise teams on program level planning events and activities
    • Collaborates with project leaders and other professionals throughout organization
    • May work with organizations outside engineering or with external customers
    • Builds stable working relationships internally
    • Some travel may be required (<10%)
    • Secret Security clearance required, obtainable within 24months of hire.
    • Keeps abreast of technology trends and champions new ideas and product and process improvements




    • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and training teams on Agile
    • In-depth knowledge of SAFe or equivalent experience scaling across an organization
    • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle ever increasing responsibility and assignments with growing complexity
    • Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
    • Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
    • Solid ability to be a team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
    • Solid written and verbal communications skills
    • Solid ability to recognize and clearly report relevant information
