  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's of Science or Technology degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations


    Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a SGSS Antenna Deployment Lead.  This position provides an opportunity to support the Las Cruces, New Mexico GD Engineering Team. This team supports the design, integration & test, deployment, and operations of NASA Space Network Ground Terminals and the Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment (SGSS) Program. In addition, this team is actively involved in designing, developing, and deploying innovative Radar Systems for various customers.




    • Ground Station / Antenna Installation background
    • Task Leader, Project Leader, or PM experience
    • Secret security clearance
    • Be on site at the NASA WSC facility outside Las Cruces whenever antenna installation activities are occurring
    • Expect this to be almost all work weeks effective November 2019 through Q1 2021
    • Work week is M – F from 7:00am - COB
    • May require occasional weekend coverage
    • Anticipate bringing the person to Scottsdale for the first couple of weeks for SGSS program immersion
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Lead/manage/direct antenna modification deployment team
    • Includes integration and test of the antenna subsystem at site
    • Interface with GD engineers and management based in Scottsdale
    • Interface with GD engineers and management based in Las Cruces
    • Interface with SATCOM antenna techs, engineers and management based in Texas
    • Interface with SGSS subcontractors/vendors including Viasat, Blackbox, RTlogic, etc.
    • Interface with GD engineers and management on rotation from Scottsdale in Las Cruces


    • Significant NASA customer Interface along with interface to the NASA Space Network (NASA receiver of SGSS system)
    • Ability to effectively deal with customer
