  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management or Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.


    Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Technical Manager of Integrated Logisitcs Support of Submarine and Security programs.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



    • Responsible for the execution of all logistics scope on submarine programs. This includes preparing inputs for proposals, provisioning / end of life analysis, initiating material procurement, government furnished material coordination, and inventory management including warehousing and dispositioning
    • Ensure design interface between Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and engineering occurs at the beginning and throughout a program lifecycle so that supportability is designed into a program/product
    • Participates in development of program strategies and teaming strategies as they relate to the assigned task
    • Coordinates inputs of technical experts of the different elements of ILS to craft inputs for proposals. This includes both the technical solution and supported cost estimates.
    • Leads discussions across engineering, contracts, and program management to assess impacts on ILS requirements from proposed changes
    • Identifies technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk management database along with ILS mitigation plans
    • Hire and develop employees through mentoring, training plan development, on the job training opportunities, etc. in technical and soft skill areas
    • Prepares team for internal audits and in development of corrective action plans
    • Directs unit workload to meet program and customer delivery requirements
    • Understands Cost Account Management (CAM) and applies the concepts to ILS scope and budgets
    • Communicates regularly with customer, project team, and internal management. This includes all internal functions including all engineering functions, manufacturing, shipping & receiving, property, reliability, quality, field sites and human resources.
    • Responsible for team that manages transactions and storage of government material
    • Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies
    • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
    • Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements to meet allocated budgets
    • Interacts with functional peer group managers involving matters between functional areas, other company units, or divisions
    • May be required to travel (<10%)
