  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelors of Science degree or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

     

    Department of Defense Secret clearance is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Navy submarine AN/BYG-1 Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support multiple GDMS submarine program efforts. Imagine being part of a team that develops the technologies, products and services that help our nation’s heroes keep our nation safe.     What you’ll be doing

    • Provide AN/BYG-1 Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to assess and drive design changes across multiple GDMS submarine programs
    • Within the GDMS matrix Engineering organization, share and utilize common design across multiple GDMS submarine programs via Product Line Engineering (PLE) and Agile Systems Engineering
    • Support proposals and new business development
    • Shape future products by contributing to the architecture framework used across multiple products and systems

     

    What you need to bring to the table

    • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, a related specialized area or field
    • Strong Subject Matter Expertise in AN/BYG-1 and SWFTS community submarine design
    • Strong experience leading Working Group meetings with Navy representatives and external system stakeholders
    • Ability to teach systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
    • Ability to teach requirements management and system modeling tools
    • Strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and discipline

    One last thing

    • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected for the Entry-Level Systems Engineer position will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
