    Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of business principles. Administration  Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field.


    Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


    Responsibilities for this Position

    Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Operations and Material Management Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. This position will support manufacturing teams responsible for building prototypes, preproduction and production with the following efforts:

    • Support Material and manufacturing planning
    • Manage production WIP flow and work to remove constraints
    • Perform material analysis to identify and resolve build constraints.
    • Learn and exercise MRP/ERP systems to perform production and inventory activities.
    • May work with Information technology (MRP/ERP) to lead or integrate manufacturing tools.
    • Initiate and status material requisitions and supplier returns.
    • Other projects as assigned


    The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various projects of the GDMS organization and its clients.     Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Manufacturing Operations and Material Management. Interns must be enrolled in  Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Management or similar undergraduate programs.


    The Ideal candidate will have familiarity with Lean manufacturing practices, production material flow, Material Resource Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Shop Floor Control and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
