  • Basic Qualifications

    AA Degree in related discipline or the equivalent is required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience is required.
    J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, ESDS, and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required


    Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Technician.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


    Determines requirement compliance of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic parts and materials through visual inspection, electrical or mechanical screening and physical measurements
    Develops part testing and screening requirements with project engineering and quality assurance personnel
    Configures complex electrical component test set-ups
    Fabricates electrical test fixtures
    Writes programs for automated test systems
    Performs part screening tests such as Solderability, Hermeticity, and PIND
    Reviews data including: supplier part data, final data packages, external screening results, etc.
    Performs complex first article and first piece inspection
    Programs coordinate measuring machines
    Leads part and material failure analysis
    Performs complex open set-up mechanical inspections
    Works directly with project engineering
    Works directly with Interfaces with Supply Management Commodity Engineers

    Strong knowledge of AC & DC electronic theory
    Strong knowledge of automated test equipment programming
    Strong knowledge of geometric tolerance and dimensioning
    Strong knowledge of metallurgy
    Strong knowledge of military and industry test methods and standards
    Skilled in operation of coordinate measuring machines
    Skilled in operation of electronic test equipment (o-scopes, volt meters, resistance bridge, capacitance bridge, etc.)
    Skilled in operation of specialized equipment such as PIND testers, centrifuge, thermal shock, fine and gross leak bombs, fine leak detector, steam aging, etc.
    Skilled in general computer operation understanding (MS Word, Excel) and automated test system operation and parts handlers
    Skilled in design and fabrication of simple electrical and mechanical test fixtures
    Availability To Be Utilized & Cross Trained Within The Quality Group
