    Working successfully within a team, the Surface Ship Seaframe Control Systems Engineer will participate in requirements analysis, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification) in the development and evaluation of networks and information systems.

    • Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE/BFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
    • Support the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
    • Develop and evaluate systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
    • Plans sub tasks for activities described above
    • Develop professional expertise, apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
    • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
    • Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses
    • Receive instruction from immediate supervisor and lead
    • Contact with multiple work groups

    What you bring to the table:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required; Agile experience preferred
    • Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories
    • Familiarity with technical standards
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Awareness of business objectives and Engineering role in achieving

    • Experience with Requiremetns Development and Management
    • Experience with Problem Reporting tracking
    • Experience with IBM Rational tools such as DOORS and Change
    • Strong technical writing skills, presentation skills, problem solving skills, and troubleshooting skills
    • High level familiarity with other shipboard systems such as Navigation, Aviation, Infrastructure, etc.
