Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems is currently seeking a Advanced Quality Engineer in our Greesnboro, NC facility.

Designing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products, the Advanced Quality Engineer will have the opportunity to help our nation’s heroes make a true impact. You’ll be the owner of the quality function in one or more production shops and design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.

What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Fully proficient knowledge of engineering (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc.) methodologies, tools, and standards
  • Fully proficient knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Very strong skills in problem solving and root cause corrective action (A3, 8D, 5-why, Pareto, Fishbone, PFMEA, etc) 
  • Very strong in data analysis including use of statistical software packages (minitab) and Microsoft PowerBi
  • Fully proficient in developing and maintaining shop level metrics including first pass yield, defect per million, scrap, etc
  • Proven ability to think creatively and multi-task to complete projects on time
  • Fully proficient skills in reviewing documents, drawings and instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
  • Fully proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, SharePoint)
  • Fully proficient written and verbal communications skills
  • Fully proficient skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Fully proficient ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices
  • Fully proficient knowledge of interpretation of drawings
  • Fully proficient skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
  • Fully proficient interpersonal skills
  • Fully proficient knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
  • Fully proficient computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $100,693.80 - USD $111,707.20 /Yr.
