Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Financial Specialist (Sr Finance Spec) to be part of its Financial Reporting team in ono worriesur Chantilly, Virginia office.  The Financial Reporting team reports to the GDMS Controller and seeks to be a strategic business partner within the organization.  Financial Reporting plays a critical role at GDMS as one of the primary liaisons with the General Dynamics Corporate office.  The position provides a unique opportunity for interaction with the Finance leadership team as well as the other functions across the GDMS business.  The Financial Specialist, Financial Reporting will be exposed to various aspects of the business and will influence decisions that impact the success of GDMS. 

Utilizing your strong analytical skills, you’ll prepare, analyze and evaluate financial information associated with financial results and forecasts. Additionally, the Financial Specialist (Sr Finance Spec) will:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of GDMS financial results
• Research technical accounting issues and implement newly-issued accounting literature and SEC rule-making across GDMS
• Perform critical analysis of data from multiple lines of business / legal entities
• Develop and implement recommendations to improve / streamline financial reporting processes
• Prepare internal presentations on various accounting and finance topics for management
• Consult with GDMS financial management across the various lines of business on technical accounting guidance
• Various other special projects as needed
