Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, or NASA std’s certification may be required within 30 days of hire.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a Quality Specialist for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you’ll be a member of a cross functional team primarily responsible for overseeing the compilation and audit of quality data packs to include product data, inspection data, first articles, certifications, and shippers prior to shipment of hardware.  The Quality Specialist may also perform production and quality control audits as well as vendor evaluation audits to determine qualifications.  The Quality Specialist will play a significant role ensuring all processes adhere to quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries.  Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with AS 9100 standards
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management
  • Develop and implement comprehensive audit plans
  • Conduct surveillance audits to monitor ongoing compliance
  • Oversee the CAR process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of non-conformances
  • Track CARs to closure and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Revise and update quality procedures, work instructions, and forms as necessary
  • Ensure all documentation reflects current best practices and compliance requirements
  • Create and verify shipping documentation for hardware shipments
  • Ensure all documentation complies with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Review customer contracts and purchase orders for quality clauses and notes
  • Ensure all customer requirements are understood and met
  • Verify that all POs comply with internal and external quality standards
  • Coordinate with procurement to address any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of quality activities
  • Ensure records are retained in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and track key quality metrics to monitor performance
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of AS 9100 standards and auditing techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficient in developing and implementing quality procedures and work instructions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with internal teams and customers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools
  • Detail-oriented and methodical in approach
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $89,221.00 - USD $96,540.00 /Yr.
