CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a L&AS and M&SS Materials and Procurement Manger Supporting Taunton Manufacturing.  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: 

 

  • Management of group or department to include hiring, discipline, performance management and salary planning
  • Leads cross-functional teams
  • Applies business related knowledge in the areas of systems and procedures, finance, budget planning and statistics
  • Performs financial analysis and support to assist in strategic decision making for department or project
  • Anticipates customer requirements and develop actions to support
  • Practices cycle time management for area
  • Communicates relevant team or project information with other related teams
  • Anticipates customer requirements and develops actions to support
  • Practices cycle time management for area and establishes baselines (Budgets), KPI’s, and Metrics
  • Supports proposal activities with innovative solutions to meet program needs and requirements. Includes but not limited
  • Manage relationship between Material Estimator and Engineering/PMO
  • Attend Proposal Stand-ups as a key member of the Proposal Team and are point person for the material portion of the proposal
  • Write BOEs for the SCM labor bid to support the program
  • Ensure schedule is executable; perform ‘real’ lead time analysis (CBOM LTs unreliable)
  • Performing Should-cost analyses
  • Thoroughly analyze and review Costed BOM to confirm it is accurate and executable
  • Work with Engineering + Suppliers for new product items being evaluated/bid
  • Assist in obtaining most important / complex quotes from strategic suppliers
  • SCPM responsible for overall material bid, review, recommendation, supporting FMR up to VP level
  • Prepare and execute Non-Disclosure and Bailment Agreements, as required
  • Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions and coordinates purchasing activities with internal partners
  • Ensures purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and requests for quotes to suppliers are processed efficiently
  • Monitors the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned procurements to negotiate the highest quality at best value
  • Develops new supply sources and recommends cost-saving proposals or alternative sources
  • Interacts with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues and works with management to address all aspects of supply chain management
  • Leads supply chain efforts and is accountable for suppliers’ performance in meeting cost/schedule/technical needs
  • Develops/implements strategies to meet/exceed customer expectations and conducts risk management on supplier efforts
  • Supports DTC/DTUPC efforts and performs sourcing/market research to bring the best value to the business
  • Working to find suppliers with engineering
  • Working with B&E on estimating the material BOM
  • Ensuring pricing is update as requested
  • Drafts contractual instruments for procurement and establishes negotiation strategies
  • Leads supplier negotiations and ensures procurement documentation meets project needs and is compliant within the SCM Policies and Procedures
  • Champions supply chain initiatives, process improvements, and supports audits with favorable outcomes for General Dynamics
  • Leads detailed scheduling, planning, and coordination of program material needs

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $152,936.00 - USD $165,481.00 /Yr.
