Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
[Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.] Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Duties and Tasks:
· Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments
· Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, Customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipments
· Approves internal forms, maintains databases and files, and prepares and submits internal and external reports
· Initiates activities related to export licenses in support of international business development activities
· Establishes requirements for license generation, generates license applications and tracks through the approval process, and supports license applications throughout the corporate and regulatory agency review and approval processes
· Within workgroup, and then across a broad spectrum of the company, to include corporate, senior management, engineering, marketing, sales, administrators, security, law, shipping, etc., including outside business and limited governmental contact
· Travel may be required
· Ability to obtain, at a minimum, a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance
· Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects and assignments
· Works on and develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
· Work is periodically reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy
· Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· U.S. import and export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customs regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, international shipping, transportation, and distribution practices and documentation
· U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulations including the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) and Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA)
· Considerable business writing skills
· Excellent verbal and electronic communications
· Considerable ability to take direction, work independently, and contribute to team efforts
· Risk tolerant
· Frequent use and considerable knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards
