This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Analyze logs, network traffic, and other data sources to identify potential security incidents
Assist in ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
Analyze user behavior and activities to detect suspicious patterns
Conduct investigations into potential insider threats
Collaborate with other teams to gather information and evidence
Assist in the response to security incidents, including initial triage and escalation
Document and report findings from security incidents and investigations
Stay updated with the latest threat intelligence and security trends
Work closely with other Security Operations Center (SOC) team members and departments
Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures
Assist in the management and tuning of security monitoring tools and technologies
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of security information and event management (SIEM) tools
Proficient in performing digital forensic activities
Understanding of network protocols, system logs, and security alerts
Ability to analyze logs and data from various sources to identify anomalies
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Experience with threat hunting and investigation techniques
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation
Basic understanding of incident response procedures
Ability to assist in triage and escalation of security incidents
Awareness of current threat landscape and emerging security trends
Willingness to stay updated with the latest security technologies and best practices
Participation in ongoing training and professional development
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
Knowledge of penetration testing frameworks
Grasps and applies new information quickly and handles more complex assignments
Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment, and professionally executes projects with little direction
