Basic Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Planning & Procurement Manager.  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Manages Planning and Procurement department activities - hiring, discipline, performance mgmt, & salary planning.

• Leads cross-functional teams, liaison between programs team, functional areas, and suppliers.

• Performs financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Anticipates customer requirements & develops supportive actions.

• Oversees Manufacturing Master Schedule, coordinating with Program Team for forecasting

• Practices cycle time management, establishes budgets, KPIs, & metrics.

• Reviews & coordinates purchase requisitions, ensuring efficient processing. Coordinates oversight of supplier negotiations and execution of procurement plan.

• Develops new supply sources & recommends cost-saving alternatives.

• Understand who their critical suppliers are to understand impact to customer.

• Coordinates with cross functional team regarding supply chain efforts, ensuring supplier performance & developing strategies to meet customer expectations

•Strong knowledge of GD Mission Systems organizational relationships

•Creates an appropriate sense of urgency throughout the organization
•Performs labor forecasts, material forecasts and create staffing plans
•Effective delegation techniques
•Sets individual training plans consistent with goals and scorecard
•Strong ability of develop /manage organizational strategies/initiatives to meet department and GD objectives
•Good influence management skills to obtain agreement with individuals as well as management and other functional organizations
•Ability to utilize all resources efficiently
•Strong understanding of business environment

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $123,734.00 - USD $133,884.00 /Yr.
