Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.

The Advanced Systems Engineer will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:

  • Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
  • Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
  • Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical specifications for the installation of various power infrastructure and data processing equipment.
  • Work with multidisciplinary team to specify power infrastructure, floor configuration, external power requirements, etc. for a variety of remote sites.
  • Leads and actively participates in the installation of power infrastructure, data processing and other equipment at remote sites.
  • Reports status to both internal and external customers.
  • Upholds GDMS’ reputation and high standards of workmanship and quality during site installs.

 

Additional Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hand-on experience working with UPS systems (10 kVA and higher), commercial power distribution, transformers, data center equipment, data center wiring, etc. or simmilar systems
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code a plus
  • Working knowledge of HVDC systems a plus
  • Extensive experience with AutoCAD
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25%; some travel may be to very remote locations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a SECRET level clearance.
  • Related post-secondary education such as:
    • AS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or closely related discipline
    • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline

Workplace Options:
This position is Hybrid/Flex as necessary.
While on-site, you will be a part of the McLeansville, NC facility.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $110,175.00 - USD $122,225.00 /Yr.
