CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

 

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Field Support Representative (FSR) to support the US Coast Guard (USCG) Rescue 21 System in St. Petersburg, FL. In addition, the potential candidate may provide flyer coverage for other FSR’s in the South Region and the continental United States, Guam, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and USVI and may require up to 25% travel. Primary Area of Responsibility (AOR) includes sites in Sector St. Petersburg. Candidate would be required to drive a company supplied vehicle to cover a minimum of 13 Rescue 21 sites within Florida: six Coast Guard Stations (STA), six Remote Fixed Facilities (RFF’s) and one Sector Command Center (SCC). The selected candidate will be located within 75 miles of St. Petersburg, FL. The FSR will work out of their home and have a GDMS supplied vehicle, tools, and supplies necessary to maintain the Rescue 21 sites including a regional depot spares location.

The primary responsibility of this role is for equipment and system support of the Rescue 21 communication and direction-finding system at remote sites in USCG Sector St. Petersburg. The FSR will provide emergency repair response coverage and total system preventive maintenance coverage which will require driving for site access.

 

The successful candidate has detailed knowledge of system tactical employment and optimization and the ability to document failures and corrective action in accordance with proper procedures and methods. This role will act independently in most situations and will prepare and submit periodic status reports and inventories as required by operational procedures. Field activities will include installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of fielded systems/products at customer sites. The FSR will diagnose, isolate, and repair any mechanical, hardware, software, or system failures using established procedures, specialized test equipment, and diagnostic equipment and then, submit reports detailing the repair activities. The FSR will work closely with design engineering to evaluate product performance and conduct start-up, cutover, and checkout activities on newly installed systems. Preventive maintenance will also be completed on site ancillary equipment including the site generator and HVAC equipment along with the R21 communications and direction-finding electronics equipment. At times this position will also include work with more senior FSR's to conduct technical seminars and training for customers, conduct informal on the job training for other field service staff members and customers, and deliver over-the shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as required.

As a Senior Advanced Field Support Representative, you’ll install and repair equipment; instruct customers in equipment operation; provide technical assistance; and check equipment for malfunctions. You’ll essentially conduct site and equipment inspections in order to perform preventative and corrective maintenance as well as conduct technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel, informal on-the-job training for other field service staff members and customers, and over-the-shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as required. We’ll rely on you to diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. You’ll be expected to interface with customers, military personnel, government dignitaries, external consultants/experts, all levels of employees across the company, including executive management.

Combined Salary Range

USD $46.22 - USD $49.58 /Hr.
