Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

GDMS is hiring software engineers with the proficiency required to migrate software systems to cloud infrastructures and optimize performance in highly scalable cloud environments.

 

Expected Skills and Qualifications

  • Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with AWS, GovCloud, and Secret cloud environments including services for compute, storage, and networking.
  • Cloud Architecture: Experience in designing cloud-based architectures that support scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Software Development: Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for cloud development, such as Python, Java, C#, or Go.
  • Multi-threaded Programming: Expertise in multi-threaded and concurrent programming to optimize performance and resource utilization.
  • Cloud Storage: Knowledge of cloud storage solutions (e.g., S3, Azure Blob Storage) and best practices for data management and retrieval.
  • Microservices and Containerization: Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing and deployment.
  • Performance Optimization: Skills in profiling, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of cloud-based applications.
  • APIs and Integration: Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services.
  • Security: Understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
  • Networking: Basic knowledge of networking concepts and cloud networking services to ensure efficient communication between services.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments and participating in iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in cloud environments.
  • Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Design and develop cloud-based software systems.
  • Optimize existing on-platform software for cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement multi-threaded and concurrent programming techniques.
  • Utilize cloud storage solutions for data management.
  • Develop microservices and containerized applications.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud-based applications.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs.
  • Ensure cloud security best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $139,189.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
