Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Systems Engineer for the Space Force MUOS program, you’ll work as a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system.  We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system. 

 

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

  • Develop and document system architectures, behavioral descriptions and interfaces using system interaction and flow diagramming tools such as Visio, Draw IO and MagicDraw
  • Define and review system requirements and requirement verification test plans using DOORS or DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG)
  • Design, development, integration and test of ground communications and network management systems
  • Understanding of:
    • Network Management areas such as Planning and Provisioning, Key Management, Fault Management and Security Management
    • Network Management applications areas including planning and provisioning, messaging and adapters, AAA and PKI. 
    • Satellite communication (SATCOM) principles and communication types
    • Industry standards and safety regulations for electronic equipment
    • Engineering tools and techniques to optimize system performance
  • Trade studies, determination of system Impacts and courses of action for system upgrades
    • Estimation of new or updated features and capabilities
    • System risk identification and mitigation
  • Ability to understand and review software (Java, PowerShell, bash)

Workplace Options:
This position may be fully on-site, OR Flex as program needs.  There will be periodic activities such as demos, testing and meetings that will require you to be able to be on-site to participate.

While on-site, you will be a part of the MUOS team located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $93,014.00 - USD $103,187.00 /Yr.
