• Associates Degree in related discipline and 7 year of related experience or equivalent combination of educa-tion and relevant work experience is required.
Overview:
A Field Tech is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures, as well as installing, integrating, and servicing fielded systems and products at various locations. This role requires effective communication with customers, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understands the necessary interfaces
• Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
• Provide technical support to customers on a range of the company's products
• Maintain effective customer communications and relations and provide on-site training
• Serve as the customer contact for specific technical and service-related problems
• Reset equipment by disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling with replacement parts if necessary
• Perform field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing, and servicing fielded systems/products
• Provide on-site repair, installation, and servicing of specific hardware or software products
• Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using established procedures
• Communicate with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair
• Work on assignments that vary in difficulty, requiring judgment and initiative
• May act as an informal team leader and provide mentorship to lower-level technicians
• A security clearance may be required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Fully proficient knowledge of tool safety.
• Fully proficient knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge safety.
• Fully proficient knowledge of Lockout Tagout safety procedures.
• Fully proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fully proficient understanding of technologies associated with supported systems.
• Ability to use hand and electric tools, heat iron kit, bench vise.
• Ability to use test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Fully proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Consistently display high performance attributes.
