General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Facilities Support Specialist. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. Overview:
A Facilities Support Associate is responsible for maintaining daily operations of the physical facility, performing rou-tine maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. This role includes supporting ven-dors, using hand and power tools, and managing documentation and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assists with maintaining daily operations of the physical facility.
• May perform audio-visual (AV) setup for meetings or conferences.
• Handles inter-office mail deliveries, wastepaper recycling, and stocking of employee break areas.
• Provides support to vendors/contractors such as security force, cafeteria, media relations.
• Operates site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools.
• Supports maintenance mechanics and facilities staff with “handyman” duties such as furniture moves, sim-ple electrical projects, spot painting/cleaning, light construction, and exterior cleanup.
• Participates on site coverage team.
• May maintain documentation such as power diagrams, network diagrams, space usage, etc.
• Regularly inputs data into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability in basic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability in basic time management skills.
• Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to operate forklift.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand basic drawings/prints.
• Ability in fundamental computer skills.
• General understanding and proficiency in CMMS database.
• Developing knowledge of computer software applicable to trade (i.e., BCAS, CMMS, Auto-CAD, etc.).
• Developing knowledge of standard safety practices.
• Demonstrates some competency of specific building systems knowledge.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Developing understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
