As an IT - Limited Access Area Systems Admin Specialist (Sr Sys Admin Spec 1), you’ll serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Your duties may include user account management, installing new software, troubleshooting, revising documentation, granting permissions to applications and training users. You’ll perform OS and vendor software patching on servers/workstations and monitor physical and virtual servers performance using monitoring tools. You’ll also be responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware and network related interfaces on servers.

What you bring to our team:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. You may also bring equivalent relevant experience and certifications.
  • Working knowledge in TCP/IP protocols, security requirements and network communications.
  • Working knowledge of Windows/Linux clients and server systems.
  • Working knowledge in operating system and software patching.
  • Working knowledge in managing backups / tape libraries.
  • Working knowledge in tokens / certificates. (RSA / YubiKey)
  • Working knowledge in troubleshooting and modifying hardware (servers, PC's, peripherals).
  • Experience with implementing Windows and Linux security controls to maintain system compliance.
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability scanning and log analysis.

  • Familiarity with compliance controls: STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), RMF (Risk Management Framework), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), NIST SP 800-171, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)

What else you should know:

  • Department of Defense Secret clearance preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected for IT - Limited Access Area Systems Admin Specialist will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 
  • Applicant must meet DoD 8140 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher. You must complete CompTIA Security+ certification minimum within 6 Months of hire.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $80,024.00 - USD $84,000.00 /Yr.
