Basic Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a related field or the equivalent is required. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience is required. J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required.

**THIS IS A WEEKEND SHIFT POSITION  FRIDAY - SUNDAY (6:00AM - 6:30PM)** All Weekend Shift employees are considered full time.

As a Quality CMM Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure that all machined parts meet stringent quality and precision standards.  This role requires a strong understanding of metrology, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). The Quality CMM Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries.  Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Operate CMM equipment to perform precise measurements of machined parts
  • Program CMM machines using appropriate software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to determine measurement requirements
  • Conduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify product compliance
  • Document and report inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformances
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues
  • Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • Strong understanding of metrology, engineering drawings, and GD&T
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards is a plus

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $30.36 - USD $32.56 /Hr.
