Printed Circuit Board Electrical Engineer

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire and will be required to be obtained. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As an electrical engineer for the Optical Center of Excellence, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the development of a new class of high speed FSO communication systems. 

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

• High-speed PCB design (~10GHz)
• Sensitive Analog PCB design
• Design, Development, ,Troubleshooting, and Test of PCBs, and integration with other components

What sets you apart:  

• Proven mixed-signal circuit design and analysis skills.
• Recent Experience with Electrical Engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools; Xpedition, HyperLynx tools, and LTspice preferred
• High speed and mixed-signal RF design experience (A/D, D/A, Op-Amps); Data rates 10 Gbps and above preferred
• Proven experience designing PCBs with tight Signal Integrity requirements
• Knowledge of electrical assembly and test, communications-related tools (BERT, sampling oscilloscope, OSA)
• Experience designing SMPS, power entry modules, and transient suppression preferred
• Familiarity with software development. C++, Matlab, VHDL, Python preferred
• Experience with R&D rapid turnaround including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, vendor interface, and test
• Experience presenting technical information to a variety of audiences
• Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
• Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
