Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.  

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Progeny Systems, a business area within the General Dynamics Mission Systems company, is a high-tech business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We deliver architectures, designs, testing, and production of the current and next generation torpedo guidance and control systems for the Department of Defense providing the warfighter with advanced capabilities in target detection, acquisition, and prosecution. We are a technology leader in numerous areas including technology insertion; acoustic sensors; signal processing; guidance; cyber secure; and high reliability systems.

 

We are looking for an experienced Sr Advanced Electrical Engineer to join our Progeny/M&SS Line of Business. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in power supply design. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of power supply architectures for the torpedo Guidance and Control system. This includes high power applications up between 2.5V and 400V input and output levels.  
  • Work with cross functional teams including electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and test engineering to guarantee an integrated design that meets all requirements
  • Follow tightly controlled engineering processes related to military applications, this includes writing requirements documents, test plans and procedures, etc.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with AC and DC power supply design
  • Understanding of different power supply topologies
  • Previous design experience, specifically focused on high efficiency and low noise applications
  • Previous experience with schematic capture
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC
  • Experience with high reliability design
  • Ability to performing troubleshooting in a lab environment. 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • PCB layout
  • Group lead responsibilities
  • DOD secret clearance
  • Experience with DoD processes and requirements

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $157,487.00 - USD $174,713.00 /Yr.
