This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engagement to redefine workflows, integrate AI and digital tools, and establish a scalable framework that accelerates program delivery while ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies.

Purpose:

To define, modernize, and maintain enterprise engineering process standards across the full program lifecycle (capture, design, development, production, sustainment). This role ensures processes are agile, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives while embedding AI and digital capabilities to enhance productivity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modernize Standards: Redesign and maintain enterprise engineering process standards spanning the full program lifecycle, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and enterprise strategies.
  • AI Integration: Embed AI capabilities, assistants, and digital tools into workflows to enhance decision-making, productivity, and quality.
  • Tailored Implementation: Collaborate with discipline-specific leads to ensure processes are tailored, adopted, and compliant across all areas of the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Create and manage a continuous improvement program with metrics to measure adoption, effectiveness, and impact.
  • Governance & Certification: Lead the organization in achieving and maintaining Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) certification. This includes conducting gap analyses, overseeing process documentation, delivering training, and coordinating formal appraisals to ensure compliance with CMMI standards.
  • Governance & Alignment: Serve as the central point of contact for process inquiries, governance, and improvement initiatives. Partner across engineering, IT, and digital transformation teams to align processes with digital thread and AI strategies.

Impact:

You will create an agile, scalable, and standardized process framework that accelerates delivery, reduces inefficiencies, and positions the company to harness AI and digital transformation for sustained competitiveness and innovation.

Value:

Drive enterprise-wide process adoption, eliminate bottlenecks, and establish a culture of continuous improvement, enabling the company to deliver smarter, faster, and more effectively in an AI-driven ecosystem.

What You’ll Bring:

  • CMMI Leadership: Direct experience leading or supporting the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) certification process, including conducting gap analyses, developing process documentation, delivering training, and coordinating formal appraisals. Accountability for securing and maintaining certification is a key aspect of this role.
  • AI Knowledge: Experience integrating AI capabilities, including assistants, agents, automation, and digital thread technologies, into engineering workflows.
  • Lifecycle Understanding: Deep expertise in engineering lifecycle processes, from capture and design to production and sustainment.
  • Metrics-Driven Leadership: Demonstrated ability to define and implement performance metrics that improve efficiency, quality, and risk management.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Proven success operationalizing AI and digital tools beyond pilot phases, ensuring scalable, practical adoption.
  • A background in both engineering and program execution environments, with a deep understanding of engineering lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with enterprise standardization initiatives and engineering tool ecosystems.
  • Strong systems thinking, collaboration, and change management skills to inspire and influence teams across the organization.
