Overview
The Integrator supports integration of capabilities from varying development programs into Columbia (CLB) production by aligning technical execution, Program of Record (PoR) schedules, and delivery milestones across engineering, production, and program stakeholders. This role ensures system designs, requirements, and engineering deliverables are synchronized with Columbia-class production timelines and contractual commitments across a broad portfolio that includes the DEC, SPOF, Columbia/Dreadnaught Production Block Buy, and Fleet Documentation Modernization programs in addition to many other development program minor support.
The position focuses on disciplined systems engineering execution within the PoR environment, maintaining alignment between development activities and shipbuilder, Navy, and program milestone requirements. The Integrator works across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to identify dependencies, manage integration risks, and ensure technical readiness to support CLB production and on-time capability delivery.
This role requires strong systems engineering fundamentals, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) experience, and the ability to coordinate across organizations to support successful transition from development to production. The ideal candidate brings Advanced/Expert-level proficiency in systems engineering principles and a demonstrated track record of supporting complex, multi-program defense environments.
Key Responsibilities
CLB Production & D5LE2 Integration
- Support integration of development, completion, and production system capabilities into planning and execution
- Coordinate technical, configuration, and interface alignment between development teams and CLB production stakeholders
- Identify and resolve integration risks affecting production readiness, system installation, or fleet delivery
- Ensure system baselines, documentation, and verification artifacts support production and fielding requirements
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses impacting CLB production integration or PoR delivery
Portfolio-Wide Technical Integration Support
Provide systems engineering integration support across the following programs:
- D5LE2
- DEC
- SPOF
- CLB/DN Production Block Buy (C/D Block Buy)
- Fleet Documentation Modernization

Program of Record (PoR) Scheduling & Execution
- Develop, maintain, and monitor integration activities within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) aligned to PoR milestones
- Ensure engineering deliverables align with key contractual events, shipbuilder need dates, and Navy delivery commitments
- Identify cross-team dependencies, critical path drivers, and schedule risks impacting CLB production
- Provide schedule status, forecast confidence, and recovery recommendations to program and engineering leadership
- Support schedule integration across multiple IPTs to ensure coordinated execution and milestone readiness
Systems Engineering Execution
- Participate in requirements analysis, allocation, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, interface definition, system integration, and verification activities
- Generate and review technical engineering products using established standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
- Perform interface definition studies of system components and products
- Research and analyze data including vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE/BFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Design complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products in support of CLB production and PoR objectives
- Develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems as required
- Provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support as needed
- Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework used across multiple products or systems
Risk, Cost, and Performance Management
- Perform technical planning, cost and schedule risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness assessments for subsystems and system elements
- Contribute to execution performance monitoring, including SPI/CPI trends, Earned Value Management (EVM), and EAC impacts
- Support development and maintenance of the Command Risk Register and program-level risk processes as applicable to CLB integration efforts
- Implement effective corrective actions and communicate resolution to all affected parties and artifacts
- Communicate technical issues, schedule impacts, and corrective actions clearly to program and engineering leadership and external stakeholders
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with IPT Leads, Program Management, Engineering disciplines, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations to ensure integrated, coordinated execution
- Support program reviews and customer engagements to communicate integration status, PoR readiness, and risks
- Coordinate with shipbuilder and external stakeholders as required to ensure alignment to Columbia production needs
- Build effective working relationships across internal teams and external partners including government customers and Navy stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Highly proficient understanding and application of systems engineering principles, concepts, theories, and integration practices across complex, multi-program defense environments
- Experience working within a Program of Record (PoR) environment with contractual schedule discipline
- Working knowledge of Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), dependency management, and critical path analysis
- Understanding and application of program execution metrics including EVMS, SPI/CPI, EAC, and Cost Account Management (CAM) principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate schedule risk, technical status, and impacts to diverse audiences including senior leadership and government customers
- Strong use of tools for managing requirements and modeling systems
- Ability to manage complex, interdependent assignments across multiple programs and teams simultaneously
- Strong ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools for various tasks
- Familiarity with submarine systems, D5LE2 programs, or Navy acquisition processes preferred
- Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle complex, ambiguous assignments efficiently
- Awareness of business objectives and the role of systems engineering in achieving program and portfolio goals
- Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies for continuous improvement and innovation
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

Workplace Options:
