Help build the technologies, products, and services that support our nation’s security. At General Dynamics Mission Systems, you’ll work alongside talented teams developing advanced solutions that make a meaningful impact.

As a Program Performance Management (PPM) Specialist, you’ll help program teams manage cost, schedule, and performance for mission-critical work. You’ll partner with program leadership, finance, engineers, and other team members to maintain accurate program data, identify trends, and support informed decisions. Using Earned Value Management (EVM) practices and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes, you’ll help keep programs on track to meet their commitments.

NOTE: This is a PPM/EVM  role, it is NOT a PM or PMP role.

What you’ll experience:

  • Supporting cost, schedule, forecasting, risk, and performance-management activities for one or more programs or contracts.
  • Helping develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, forecasts, work breakdown structures, and performance reports within contract requirements.
  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing program data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, then sharing recommendations with program leadership.
  • Preparing program reviews, reports, charts, and customer-required documents while working with engineers, Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, Control Account Managers (CAMs), finance, and program teams.
  • Participating in EVM and EVMS processes, internal reviews, proposal support, and continuous-improvement activities, with guidance from senior team members as needed.

What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience supporting project or program cost, schedule, financial, operations, or product life-cycle activities.
  • Working knowledge of EVM principles, EVMS processes, program performance reporting, and schedule-management practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with scheduling or cost-management tools such as Microsoft Project or Deltek Cobra is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience supporting defense, federal, or other contract-based programs.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Report (IPMDAR) reporting, National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) guidelines, Estimates at Completion (EACs), or program financial processes.
  • Experience working with IPTs, CAMs, subcontractors, or finance partners.
  • Ability to identify risks, support root-cause and corrective-action activities, and contribute practical process improvements.
  • Curiosity and initiative in applying AI, new tools, or improved processes to strengthen program performance management.

Our Commitment to You

  • A meaningful career supporting practical solutions for our nation’s security.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and work alongside award-winning technical teams.
  • Flexible work schedules, including an optional 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
