Deputy Chief Engineer

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Deputy Chief Engineer for Strategic Weapons Control, you’ll guide cross functional teams responsible for supporting currently fielded tactical (Ohio/Vanguard) and auxiliary systems for the nation's most reliable and survivable strategic deterrent as well as participate in the systems road mapping and design trade spaces of modernizing and fielding a new tactical platform (Columbia/Dreadnought) of strategic deterrent with more flexible and adaptable capabilities along with enhanced support and auxiliary systems.

You will be participating and supporting a variety of exercises to develop Strategic Weapon Control and engineering knowledge in key areas such as:

1. Software functional decompositions
2. Shore Facility CONOPS and design options
3. Auxiliary systems road mapping and design

In addition, you will also be supporting portfolio and customer facing efforts such as:

1. Select Integrator Team tasks in support of the Integration Team
2. Select opportunities for generating and presenting material akin to the above for leadership forums and decision making
3. Attend select leadership forums, both internal and customer driven, for relationship and confidence building
