CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer, you’ll design and plan network systems by providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. You’ll apply your extensive technical expertise to provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one discipline/field with a working knowledge in multiple adjacent disciplines/fields
  • Represent organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, testing, sustainment, and modernization of secure, scalable LAN/WAN and communications infrastructure, translating program requirements into architecture designs, technical specifications, configuration baselines, and implementation plans.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network and communications technologies—including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, encryption systems, secure remote access, and fiber/copper connectivity—and provide advanced support for network, integration, cybersecurity, and system-administration issues.
  • Conduct network validation, performance analysis, and technical trade studies; monitor key metrics, identify root causes, and recommend improvements that support performance, security, reliability, cost, schedule, and lifecycle objectives.
  • Support RMF/ATO activities by reviewing Information Assurance documentation, performing security assessments, supporting vulnerability remediation and continuous monitoring, and developing secure hardware, software, configuration, and architecture recommendations.
  • Coordinate with ISSE, RMF/ATO, cybersecurity, systems engineering, program management, vendors, and support organizations to enable authorization activities, equipment maintenance, system upgrades, deployments, and continuous operations.
  • Administer Linux/UNIX and Windows systems, including account administration, patching, system hardening, audit support, and command-line troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, SOPs, test procedures, technical reports, operational procedures, and customer briefings.
  • Lead significant technical tasks and small projects by managing priorities, coordinating resources, communicating risks and status, and evaluating emerging technologies and tools for continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with Cisco network technologies, WAN/LAN and data-center protocols, QoS, VoIP, network virtualization, and secure multi-level network environments supporting CONUS and OCONUS operations.
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance management, reporting, encryption systems, and applicable U.S. Government COMSEC standards and practices.
  • Experience supporting virtualized infrastructure, enterprise services, and mission systems, along with Linux/UNIX scripting, automation, configuration management, or network automation tools.
  • Relevant advanced certifications or equivalent demonstrated experience, such as CCNP, Security+, CISSP, RHCE, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, or comparable credentials.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $139,577.00 - USD $154,843.00 /Yr.
